In a land where it is common to see whales, bears and sea lions all in one day, InnerSea Discoveries is focused on providing guests with a multitude of meaningful ways to experience Southeast Alaska and its surrounding waterways in many private adventures. Whether you are looking for moderate or vigorous Alaska adventures, extended and challenging outdoor pursuits like hiking and kayaking, we can tailor most any expedition to suit your skill level. Every Alaska adventure activity is ranked with an Activity Level and Activity Description to ensure that you feel comfortable with your selection.

Among your choices, the adventure list includes caving, kayaking among icebergs, hiking far-off trails, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling, “polar bear club swims”, observing whales and other marine wildlife from inflatable boats, bird watching, friendly sporting contests and glacier walks. Optional specialized programs feature full-blown guided fishing excursions as well as overnight backpacking and kayaking or river float trips.

Whether it is a family reunion, milestone birthday or important anniversary, getting the family together for an InnerSea Discoveries Alaska family vacation adventure is one of the most memorable ways to celebrate. Our Alaska family vacations, designed specifically for families, are available on select departures and include our popular “Alaska Family Discoveries” program. Geared toward entertaining and educating kids from various age groups, we focus on activities tailored for all ages: different levels of kayaking, and hiking as well as hopping shore-to-shore by zodiac style landing craft, viewing whales directly off the bow or dolphins right below. In a rare introduction to Alaska wilderness lifestyles, kids and the entire family will meet and interact with local Alaska families, such as oyster farmers or commercial fishermen who have chosen a remote, isolated lifestyle. Families or other groups of 10 or more are entitled to special group savings. Plus, kids age 12 and under qualify for discounted vacation rates.
