Yes Bay Lodge lies fifty miles north of Ketchikan in southern Southeast Alaska. Overlooking the spectacular view of the Bay and pristine Wolverine Creek, the Lodge is nestled in the heart of The Tongass National Forest, the largest temperate rain forest on Earth. For over 20 years, the Hack family has been welcoming guests to Yes Bay Lodge. Unlike most fishing resorts in the state, Yes Bay Lodge is able to offer guests a wide range of freshwater and saltwater fishing, due to its’ unique location. The myriad of lakes, streams and rivers located within a short distance of the lodge, offer some of the finest trout and Dolly Varden fishing available in Southeast Alaska, while the steelhead fishing is world-class. For the salt water angler, there are five species of salmon that spawn in the areas, including king, silver, sockeye, pink and chum. In addition to the plentiful salmon, you may opt to bottom fish for Halibut, Rockfish, and Lingcod.
Fishing may be the core of life at Yes Bay Lodge, but your wilderness adventure is not limited to only angling. We offer other activities which afford opportunity to explore Alaska’s natural beauty on your Alaska Fishing Vacation.
Saltwater Fishing – Five species of Pacific Salmon run into the river systems around Yes Bay. Whether searching for the knee-trembling freight train runs of King Salmon or the daring aerobatics of the Coho, you’ll find it all at Yes Bay on your Ketchikan Alaska Fishing Trip. Coupled with the sheer power of Ketchikan Alaska Halibut Fishing and the colorful variety of Rockfish, the Lodge has everything you can imagine for your Alaska Fishing Trip experience.
Freshwater Fishing – A short, guided hike up the trail behind the Lodge takes you to the banks of Wolverine Creek. The Creek, which runs from picturesque Lake McDonald, is home to Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat, Dolly Varden, and Steelhead. Consider a floatplane trip to a remote mountain lake to fish for Arctic Grayling. It’s all possible at Yes Bay Lodge on your Alaska Fishing Vacation.
Hiking - The silence of the mysterious, green rainforest will dazzle you as you hike toward the waterfalls cascading out of Lake Shelokum. After you have stood in the middle of the falls and breathed the pure mountain air you may decide to continue up the trail to soak in the Bailey Bay Hot Springs or head to Lake Shelokum to try some fly-fishing.
Shellfish – Dungeness Crab and Spotted Prawns thrive in the cold, clean water in and around Yes Bay. Your guides will help you set out a pot and haul in crab and shrimp. Our Chef will be happy to prepare your catch for dinner.
Wildlife Tours - Wildlife abounds at Yes Bay and in the surrounding Tongass National Forest. Keep your eyes open and your camera ready for humpback whales, orcas, porpoise, seals, sea lions, black bears, brown bears, mink, marten, eagles and otters.
Floatplane Tours – Book a flying tour through the exquisite sheer cliffs of the Misty Fjords National Monument. Our reservations department can assist you with coordinating and confirming your flight seeing tour.
