"Our 2013 Halibut limits are 1 a day and 2 in possession and our halibut would average in the 65 pound range. The biggest this past season was 212 pounds. A big bonus in our area is the possession limit on Ling Cod which is 6 per angler.
An Anglers Paradise
"We caught a lot of Ling Cod in 2012 that were over 25 pounds and the biggest was 48 pounds. Also the possession limits on salmon are 8 salmon per angler of which 4 can be Kings and 4 can be Silvers. We are a hard core fishing camp, we have top of the line boats and professional guides and we are located right on top of some of the best fishing on the BC coast. 95% of our guided guests took home their limits this past season"
The Resort consists of five float houses, which are each 1200 square feet. They provide our guests with comfortable sleeping accommodations and a wonderful dining and lounging area with a wood-burning stove. A floating deck with a hot tub sits just outside the guesthouse and floathouses. "We have created an intimate, relaxed atmosphere, and our goal is to do everything possible to ensure that our guests experience an enjoyable and memorable outdoors adventure."
Meet Your Hosts
Rodgers Family History
For nearly 100 years the Rodgers family has been sportfishing in British Columbia.
It began in 1912 when Doug's Grandfather, (Joseph) first towed a string of six rowboats from Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver out to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, where he began Rodgers Boat rentals. Joseph had bought 2000 feet of prime waterfront which eventually housed a hotel and a large dance hall. They built all of their own row boats and had the first put - puts on the BC coast.
During the 30's and 40's, Doug's Dad, Howard, rented and chartered boats to sports fisherman looking to land the big one! As well, Howard ran the first water taxi service with his famous boat the Commadore. He serviced places like Britannia Mines, Woodfibre, Port Mellon and Squamish.
Twenty five years ago, Doug started his own charter business in Campbell River. What began as Shoreline Charters with one Boston Whaler and one guide (Doug) grew into Anchor Inn Charters with 17 boats and guides.
Rodgers Fishing Lodge's fleet consists of twelve 22' to 24' top of the line Pursuits and Prolines. Our cruisers are roomy and comfortable boats from which to fish. Each can accommodate up to three adults, plus your guide.
