An Alaskan Paradise Awaits - Shelter Cove Lodge

Destinations in this article:

One of the finest aspects of fishing is the inherent simplicity of our sport - the primeval scenario of man versus fish. Here at Shelter Cove Lodge, we enhance that experience by providing 20-24 guests with incredible fishing opportunities, superior guides, boats and gear and one the finest oceanfront facilities in Southeast Alaska. With a decade of service behind us and a staffing ratio of nearly 1:1, you may be assured that you will receive the trip and the personal attention that you expect and deserve.

Our Southeast Alaska lodge is located on the outskirts of Craig Alaska on the west coast of Prince of Wales Island, and offers one of the shortest flights from Seattle to Alaska. Guests of our Southeast Alaska fishing lodge can reach us in a matter of hours. This means travel and your ten-hour fishing days do not overlap, making for a far more relaxed and productive trip.

Upon arrival, guests of the lodge are treated to a modern room, each with two beds, a large private bath, desk, coffee, microwave, fridge, television, phone and free wireless Internet. Relax with your friends by the massive rock fireplaces in our restaurant or lounge and soak in the incredible seascape from our oceanfront location where whales breech and eagles soar among the many islands surrounding Bucareli Bay and the town of Craig Alaska, just a ½ mile away.

Shelter Cove Lodges Latitude 55º North restaurant is something rarely found at other Southeast Alaska fishing lodges. Guests do not have to choose between a few pre-made meals or a buffet. Instead you may select from any of a dozen full course dinners or even create your own menu. Our renowned New York Chef’s culinary skills, complete beverage service and the friendly wait staff make fine dinning in our Craig Alaska lodge an experience to remember.

Then there’s the fishing. Our Southeast Alaska lodge is one of the few located in the heart of historically productive waters protected by a multitude of islands. Not only does this mean short runs to the fish from our Southeast Alaska fishing lodge, but the protective nature of the surrounding archipelago provides shelter from wind and rough seas. These secluded waters and our exclusive - never shared - charters allow our guests to fully enjoy the fishing and camaraderie with their own friends instead of focusing on weather elements or incorporation with members of another group.

Fishing the waters around our Southeast Alaska Lodge is always productive and exciting. All five salmon species are targeted here, including the mighty King Salmon, as well as halibut, lingcod, black bass, yelloweye and other rockfish. It is quite common for all of our fishermen to limit everyday in every available species. Naturally, we custom process your entire catch at our docks to your exact specifications, then vacuum-seal, freeze and box it for your trip home.

Join us soon for the Southeast Alaska fishing adventure of a lifetime in Craig Alaska.
