Un-Cruise Adventures Acquires 64-Guest Safari Voyager
Un-Cruise Adventures announced today its acquisition of the 64-guest Safari Voyager for its yacht fleet with plans to offer Luxury Adventures year-round in Mexico’s Sea of Cortés beginning in November 2013. In winter 2015, the vessel will transition to sailing year-round in Central America. Previously named Sea Voyager, the vessel is currently in Colombia undergoing renovation.

Captain Chris Palle and Captain Camilo Gomez were working on the Pacific side of Costa Rica assisting Columbia University with a sea floor mapping operation when they came across a family clinging to an overturned vessel caught in heavy surf.
Our Costa Rican Captain threw down the throttles on our Sport Fisher 36 Express, plunging us forward into the violent seas. I stood on the bow as we approached with my good friend, Camilo, from Panama. Camilo and I have worked together in this area of the world for years. He is one of the finest seamen I know in the industry. As we approached the overturned vessel it all quickly became clear - there were several children and parents.

Some of my earliest childhood memories are of the summers spent with my father camping with his troop of Boy Scouts in upstate New York. At camp every day was a new adventure filled with the smells of wood fires, pine trees; the earthy scent of forest floor, and catfish being fried in a skillet. I learned many skills at camp such as catching and cleaning a catfish, how to paddle a canoe, as well as learning to swim. I view the outdoors as a big classroom where we learn about ourselves and the world around us. We discover how to live, and how to survive and in the process learn about who we are and what we are capable of. All the lessons my father taught me about the outdoors remain as indispensable today as they were then. I plan to pass these skills on to my grandchildren when they are ready.

In addition to fishing, Coiba is drawing divers, surfers, researchers and eco-tourists from around the world.
